Painting became my hobby after I retired from a banking career in 1999. I have been taking art classes through continuing ed. since 2001. Between the teacher and the wonderful friends I have made in the classes I have grown and learned so much. Painting is my passion.
What a sunset; a riot of color. And nicely anchored with the sillouette below of backlit slices of nature. Then the telephone pole. Yes, the pole kicks us back to the fact that were are in a city. Not something we generally consider attractive, but here it is. It's verticality counters the very hortizonal elements. The tiny, delicate wires create a bit of tension in this otherwise very serene painting. I really like the visual and cultural contrasts components here.
